  Dylan Bryant | Musician

Biography

Since co-creating and producing The Fungus (a musical) in high school, Dylan Bryant has continued to refine his craft as an emerging Australian composer. With his work described as “outstanding” by Sally Greenaway, Dylan has been recognised as a finalist in both national and international competitions, including the Petrichor International Music Competition (2025) and Australian Society for Music Education Composition Competition (2024). He seeks to shape narrative through music, connecting to people, time and place, and is completing a Bachelor of Music (Composition) at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University under the tutelage of Dr Nicole Murphy.

Alongside composition, Dylan looks forward to joining the Australian Army Band Corps as a low brass specialist. He values his engagement and contribution to community music making with the New Groove Jazz Ensemble, Brisbane City Big Band, Brisbane Municipal Concert Band, and various musical theatre productions.

Tutoring brass at school workshops and in his growing private studio has sparked Dylan’s passion for music education. He enjoys inspiring young musicians at Mt St Michael's College and Pine Rivers State High School and fostering creativity through performance and composition. In his spare time, Dylan can be found immersed in all things orienteering and exploring off the beaten track.
